MES-54 Concrete Floor Grinder/Polisher 54"

The MES-54 is the largest walk behind planetary floor grinder polisher in the world. Utilizing its exclusive patented design, the MES-54 uses 3 independently-driven power plants to grind and polish an industry leading 54” swath. The MES-54 is powerful enough for demanding industrial jobs, yet easy for a single operator to use and service. The exclusive patented design of MES-54 works to provide superior results with minimum effort. The MES-54 utilizes a wide variety of diamond and carbide abrasives to prepare concrete surfaces for coating as well as bringing out the natural luster of a concrete floor during polishing applications. The MES-54 is offered in with fixed or variable speed motors and can be operated wet or dry.

The MES-54 is designed to handle both concrete floor preparation and concrete floor polishing. Depending on the tools used, the MES-54 can either leave the floor with a rough profile for epoxy coatings or can polish the floor to a mirror shine. Click here to see tooling

Depending on the condition of the concrete, the layout of the floor to be polished and the abrasive tooling used, the MES-54 can polish up to 25,000 square feet in an average work day.

The MES-54 is a planetary grinder which means that the abrasive tools rotate in an opposite motion to the direction of the main drive axle. Since the abrasive tools and drive motor turn in opposite directions, the machine does not have a tendency to pull to one side or the other. The MES-54 is also a belt-driven “frictional” planetary grinder which means that the machine is easier to handle and less prone to user error.

The MES-54 is compatible with a wide array of diamond and carbide infused abrasive tooling for use in concrete grinding and polishing applications. These tools are designed in a variety of grit sizes ranging from an aggressive metal-bond 6 grit diamond tool all the way to a phenolic resin-bond 3000 grit polishing pad. These abrasive tools are formulated with various bond strengths and are available in formulations designed for wet grinding or dry grinding.

The MES-54 is equipped with (3) three-phase 480v 5hp motors for a total power rating of 15hp. The MES-54 comes in fixed or variable speed motor control. All configurations include the industry-leading Baldor™ motors and come with a 1-year warranty.
